The Austrian photographer and actor Dominik Maringer was born in Innsbruck in 1978 and raised in a small village in Upper Austria. He studied violin at the Bruckner Conservatory in Linz and acting at the Hamburg University of Music and Theatre. He was a seminarist at the Ostkreuzschule for Photography in Berlin, where he was taught by Ina Schoenenburg and Mustafah Abdulaziz.
Based in Berlin, his photographic work focuses on portrait and documentary photography, exploring the tensions between rural and urban spaces and the diverse forms of community that emerge within them. Dominik is a member of the photo collective ebene.
